I believe in personalizing your treatment, so let's discuss what works best for you and help you get healthy. It's time to make the changes that will make a difference in your quality of life. All sessions can be conducted in-person in the Sarasota office or on Skype, Facetime, or Google hangouts.
Individual Sessions are conducted with you and me. This therapeutic relationship helps to promote change by creating a safe, trusting, non-judgmental, and nurturing environment in which to explore your concerns, identify your primary challenges, and create solutions. Individual sessions can focus on a variety of topics, including: recovery from addictions, managing stress, addressing grief and loss, attending to depression, enhancing your sense of self-mastery, realizing your personal power, improving self-esteem, building self-trust, and relieving anxiety. I utilize an eclectic approach to helping my clients heal and realize their ability to live the life they desire, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desentization and Reprocessing), Focusing, visualization and relaxation techniques. By combining these experiential practices with traditional talk therapy, great strides are made in individual sessions.
Relationship Sessions are conducted with the primary client and their partner, family member, child, or friend. These sessions help to open communication between the various parties and promotes safety, non-judgment, and cooperation, as new ways of relating to each other are developed. Relationship sessions focus on identifying unhealthy patterns of interaction, developing empathetic communication skills, and creating new approaches to interacting.
I am certified in Imago Relationship Therapy. I utilize this specialized training to help my clients create new communication dynamics and effect change in the overall relationship. By developing new skills, the couple is empowered to heal old wounds and develop safety and connection in the relationship.
Group Sessions bring together 6-8 clients that are struggling with similar issues to use the power of the group to increase insight, find support, and make positive changes. Groups are an amazing way to work through challenges and develop new skills to manage stresses. New groups are starting on an ongoing basis, as needs arise. Group topics might include: Managing Stress and Anxiety, Adjusting to Life Transitions, Maintaining Recovery from Addictions, Finding Your Authentic Self, Women’s Issues, Empowerment, Healing from Trauma and Abuse, Healthy Relationships, Body Acceptance, Food and Body Connections, Imago Relationship Therapy, and Spiritual Enhancement.
